Scripture Luke 13:31-35

31 At that very hour some Pharisees came and said to him, “Get away from here, for Herod wants to kill you.” 32 He said to them, “Go and tell that fox for me,[a] ‘Listen, I am casting out demons and performing cures today and tomorrow, and on the third day I finish my work. 33 Yet today, tomorrow, and the next day I must be on my way, because it is impossible for a prophet to be killed outside of Jerusalem.’ 34 Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing! 35 See, your house is left to you. And I tell you, you will not see me until the time comes when[b] you say, ‘Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.’”

Activity

Move around your home or office. Instead of moving using your usual paths try to weave around the furniture ignoring the path. If you want to go the extra mile you can create your own obstacle course out of objects around your home, in your yard, or at your office.

As you come up to each obstacle visualize an obstacle or a challenge from your own life.  If you are comfortable, say the name of the obstacle aloud, you can even name the object, you are moving around, with that challenge from your life.

Picture this challenge it clearly in your mind.

Say to yourself as you start to move “God leaps over obstacles.”

Now move around your physical obstacle and as you do so visualize yourself moving around the mental obstacle you pictured even if you don’t quite know how to yet.

Prayer

Dear God,
There are many different obstacles in my life. Some of them are easy to leap over. Some of them seem impossible. Help me to remember that you are there guiding me through each obstacle I meet. Please remind me that you are there with me journeying beside me through every obstacle I encounter. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.
