When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, He calls you with the Great Commission to Mission (Matthew 28: 19 – 20). Throughout the New Testament we read how and where and why we are to witness. Each one of us has talents to use, we need to pray and listen for the call.
At the Warrenton Presbyterian Church we enter into mission with our money we pledge and give as offerings.
Global Mission
We support…
· Dr. and Mrs. Morton in Papua New Guinea,

· the building of a clinic in Terrier Rouge, Haiti
· we will help send Bruce and Lora Whearty to Ehtiopia in the fall.
Local Mission
We support…
· the local Habitat for Humanity with funds and workers;
· FISH, a local food pantry, with our first Sunday gifts of food, back packs of school supplies in August and funds to be disbursed as financial assistance.
· The Senior High youth prepare a meal monthly for “The Haven”, a local transitional housing organization. The youth have received funds from the Moffett Grant through the Shenandoah Presbytery.
· Other youth have activities with Church World Service,
§ Heifer Project,
§ and afternoons of cookie baking and visits to home bound members and friends of the church.
As a congregation …
· we walk for CROP and Relay for Life.
· We bring pet supplies for the local SPCA.
· The Crafty Ladies and Presbyterian Women of WPC are actively involved in Mission.
As a connectional church we work with the Mountain Valley Mission Community and Shenandoah Presbytery on various projects. Jake Muscar has just returned from Louisiana on one such project. We support activities in Ethiopia through the Presbytery. We go to Volunteer Farm to plant and harvest.
With the Presbyterian Church (USA) we support:
· Presbyterian Disaster Assistance work,
· One Great Hour of Sharing
· sending our missionary couple, Bruce and Lora Whearty to Ethiopia this fall.
What can YOU do? First, pray that we at Warrenton Presbyterian Church may be strong and on target, serving our Lord. Teach your children the joy of mission. Join our Mission committee. Look for meeting notices; we usually meet the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM in the youth lounge.
