2021 Stewardship Campaign
All who believed were together and had all things in common; (Acts 2:44 NRSV)
This year has brought challenges that none of us ever expected. By God’s grace and our collective effort, we have adapted to these challenges set before us and have continued to be A Servant Community of our servant Lord, Jesus Christ. We have learned a lot this year about what it means to be the church.
What do all of these things we learned this year have in common? That we are better together. Our theme verse above depicts life among the first believers after Pentecost. This first Christian community learned that, in addition to the presence of God’s Spirit, they also need one another to be Christ’s body in the world. This year, after months of being unable to gather together, we learned that we need one another and that it takes all of us—our time, talent, and treasure—to effectively live our mission. Now in this time when our community is separated between those worshiping inside, outside, and online, we feel that this theme will serve as an ongoing reminder that Christ calls us together as a community—even when we cannot all physically gather together in one place.
Friends, it is only together that we can support the ministries of WPC spiritually and financially. We hope you will join us in making a pledge to WPC by Dedication Sunday, December 6th that we can continue to be better together. Thank you again for your generosity and support of WPC. We hope you will join us in making a financial pledge to equip WPC to continue to grow as a Servant Community of our servant Lord, Jesus Christ!
